Weed Control in Organic Farming

چکیده
Summary Over the past few years, both producers and consumers have become increasingly interested in organic farming because conventional agriculture relies so heavily on use of synthetic pesticides, thus causing environmental pollution. Weeds, as inevitable "companions" cultivated plants, represent a major, everlasting issue plant production. As production is legally regulated, control undesirable plants such weeds further complicated. Using relevant literature, purpose this study to survey existing weed methods crop In order be certified, grown system without application herbicides other chemicals that are commonly used This means growers apply non-chemical, alternative suppression, i.e. based combination cropping practices, mechanical control, bioherbicides. There large number extracts with bioherbicidal activity, effect which mostly attributed biological phenomenon allelopathy, rendering sustainable, inexpensive, environmentally friendly. Although bioherbicides successfully worldwide, there no registered Serbia date (according data Ministry Agriculture, Forestry Water Management Republic Serbia). Both experts should raise awareness importance successful health soil, beneficial organisms, entire ecosystem, requires research attention.

A rotation design to reduce weed density in organic farming
Weeds are a major obstacle to successful crop production in organic farming. Producers may be able to reduce inputs for weed management by designing rotations to disrupt population dynamics of weeds. Population-based management in conventional farming has reduced herbicide use by 50% because weed density declines in cropland across time. In this paper, we suggest a 9-year rotation comprised of ...
متن کاملWeed control in organic horticultural cropping systems
A review of organic growers' concerns about weeds is presented and several issues that may ease those concerns are highlighted. The underlying principles of organic weed management (OWM) are briefly discussed and results from organic grower surveys regarding weed management practices in organic horticultural cropping are presented. The most common weeds encountered by organic growers, often tho...
